    What is Local SEO?

    Local SEO is the process of optimising for geographically-based searches: "dentist in Tartu", "car repair Pärnu", "web design Tallinn". 46% of all Google searches have local intent.

    Google Business Profile (GBP)

    This is the single most important factor. It is free. Every business must complete it.

    What to Fill In? - Accurate business name (the same as in legal documents) - Category (Primary + additional categories) - Address (if customers can visit you) - Service area (if you visit customers) - Phone number - Website - Opening hours - Photos (at least 10, professional quality) - Description (750 characters, including keywords) - Posts (similar to social media)

    Posts Google rewards active profiles. Post every 1–2 weeks: offers, news, events.

    Reviews

    Reviews are the #2 ranking factor for local SEO.

    Strategy: - Ask every satisfied customer for a review - Send the link directly: `g.page/r/CC-CODE/review` - Respond to everyone (both good and bad) - Goal: 4.5+ stars, 30+ reviews

    Don't Argue with Bad Reviews Respond professionally, offer a solution, and never blame the customer.

    NAP Consistency

    NAP = Name, Address, Phone. These must be exactly the same across all platforms: - Your website - GBP - 1188.ee, ee.com - Facebook - LinkedIn

    Discrepancies (e.g., "Tallinn" vs "Tallinna") confuse Google.

    Estonian Business Directories

    • 1188.ee
    • ee.com
    • ettevotteinfo.ee
    • Facebook business profile
    • LinkedIn company page
    • Trustpilot (for international reach)

    Local Schema Markup

    Add LocalBusiness JSON-LD to your page:

    {
      "@context": "https://schema.org",
      "@type": "LocalBusiness",
      "name": "Your Company",
      "address": {
        "@type": "PostalAddress",
        "streetAddress": "Street 1",
        "addressLocality": "Tallinn",
        "postalCode": "10101",
        "addressCountry": "EE"
      },
      "telephone": "+372...",
      "openingHours": "Mo-Fr 09:00-17:00",
      "geo": {
        "@type": "GeoCoordinates",
        "latitude": 59.4370,
        "longitude": 24.7536
      }
    }

    Content for Local SEO

    • "Services in Tallinn" type landing pages
    • District-based pages (e.g., Mustamäe, Lasnamäe)
    • Local customer success stories
    • Blog posts about local events

    Google Maps Embed

    Add a Google Maps iframe to your contact page. This serves as a strong local signal.

    Summary

    Local SEO offers the best ROI in digital marketing for Estonian small businesses. GBP + reviews + NAP consistency = 80% of the win.
