What is WordPress Multisite?

• Fast updates: Update all sites simultaneously

Disadvantages

• Single point of failure: If the core crashes, all sites go down
• Plugin compatibility: Not all plugins support Multisite
• Complex backups: Different database table structure
• Harder migration: Extracting a single site is labour-intensive
• Higher server requirements
• Single security risk: If one site is hacked, everything is at risk

When to use Multisite?

✅ Best for: - Multiple variants under the same brand (clubs, offices, regions) - Internal intranet / blogging platform - SAAS models (creating sites for clients) - Multiple languages as separate domains
